Alex and Mitch

I photographed Alex and Mitch's beautiful family amongst the autumn tones at Philip Shaw Wines in Orange NSW. Alex and Mitch’s twin boys, Herbie and Ernie loved the attention from their parents and their joy and confusion about what was happening was evident in the family photos! Family portraits are hilarious with young kids who are equally shy and curious about what we are doing, and do, but don’t want to be involved in everything. They couldn’t sit by themselves yet, so Alex and Mitch cuddled them the entire shoot - swapping the boys so they both got special time with mum and dad.

These portraits are so beautiful to me - any family portrait shoot is special! I know with my own kids, it feels like the kids will be that age forever, then looking back years later you realise how quickly time has flown and realise they will never be that small ever again! Being able to freeze those moments so you can remember and relive those first years is so magical. These memories are so precious and time feels like it has stopped when you are in the thick pf parenting, but it actually is flying by.

I love photographing families and knowing that these portraits will be passed down and treasured for generations. It is never a bad idea to have family portraits taken! You can never wind back the clock and have them done in hindsight! Can’t you already imagine Ernie and Herbie as cheeky little 5 year olds?
